Other causes previously associated with spinal cord infarction include haematomyelia, epidural haematoma, cervical spondylosis, celiac plexus block, coagulopathy (hypercoagulability), sickle cell disease, polycythemia, vasculitis, systemic lupus erythema, collagen and elastin disorders, decompression sickness, angiography, sympathectomy, gastrectomy, therapeutic embolisation of renal and spinal arteries, aortic and spinal surgeries (or any invasive procedure with a risk of compromise to spinal circulation), and a thoracic stab wound (Cheshire et al 1996, Masson et al 2004, Salvador de la Barrera et al 2001).
