I was always really hammy and conspicuous so I would get chosen a lot.
Indeed, Bart's hammy turn onstage inspired film producer Scott Rudin and screenwriter Paul Rudnick to create for him the role of the gay "wife" for him in last year's remake of The Stepford Wives.
Even other drawbacks, like the occasional hammy acting and cheesy makeup, enhance the film's deliberately tacky mise en scene invoking an even more authentic grindhouse flavour.
