ebhome offers an eclectic mix of old and new: a 19th century Chinese hutch coexists with Japanese iron pieces, while West Coast sofa designs are enhanced by handblown glass from Italy, incorporating intriguing concepts such as the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi--finding beauty in imperfection. In the center of the room Thomson displayed handblown and -formed replicas of JD bottles and ceramic jugs, functioning in this installation as makeshift candle-holders and vases. The Cloughen home also was bursting at the seams--full of embroidery, olivewood, Christmas cards, jewelry, pottery and handblown glass. |
