Baby Seal by author Aubrey Lang and photographer Wayne Lynch is the story of a baby harp seal who is born on the frozen Arctic Ocean, cared for by a loving mother, but who in just twelve short days, will be left alone with no one to feed or protect her.
In the past, migrating Arctic seal species, such as harp seals from Greenland, have been suspected as carriers that introduced a morbillivirus into an immunologically naive population (15).
Eleven of the samples matched harp seal DNA, and another was probably a hooded seal.
