Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome following hematopoeitic stem cell transplantation.
Introducing genes known to produce AML into Bmi-1(-/-) hematopoeitic stem cells (fetal liver cells), induced AML with normal kinetics; however, the Bmi-1 (-/-) leukemic stem cells from primary recipients were unable to produce AML in secondary recipients.
The State of New York Department of Health has approved the testing protocol submitted by the Department of Clinical Labs at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) for the measurement of busulfan, commonly used as a preparative regimen prior to allogeneic hematopoeitic stem cell transplant (HSCT) in patients suffering from chronic myelogenous leukemia.
