Once more or less synonymous with modern surfing, big-wave riding found itself sidelined in the late '60s by what came to be called the "short-board revolution" and the subsequent preoccupation with small-wave hotdogging and tube riding.
What I cannot understand is what all the above has to do with an American pilot hotdogging his jet in a ski area at an illegal altitude, killing 20 people, most of whom were not Italians.
