| 5-micron-thick plastic sections was used to quantify the relative amounts of parenchymal and interstitial cells and to determine the volume density of hepatocyte and of interstitial fat, glycogen pools, and necrosis. To address the latter possibility, NADPH-P450 reductase activity was measured in postmitochondrial fractions of interstitial cell preparations from adult rats 15 min after incubation with Askarel. The incidences of mammary gland fibroadenomas and uterine stromal polyps were decreased in THC groups of female rats, as were incidences of pituitary gland adenomas, interstitial cell adenomas of the testis, and pancreatic adenomas in THC-treated male rats. |
