Edwards Lifesciences Corporation (NYSE:EW), Phoenix, a global leader in hemodynamic monitoring technologies, has previewed its Edwards FloTrac sensor, a new minimally invasive hemodynamic monitoring device, at the Society of Critical Care Medicine's (SCCM) 34th Critical Care Congress.
The need for invasive hemodynamic monitoring (eg, arterial catheter, pulmonary artery catheter) were contraindications to LTVU admission or indications for transfer to an ICU if the need for invasive monitoring occurred while the patient was in the LTVU.
Commenting on the agreement, Terry O'Brien, PhD, CEO of LiDCO stated, "There is growing demand for an easy-to-use, minimally invasive hemodynamic monitoring product for use intraoperatively.
