The intelligence center of the combatant command headquarters. The joint intelligence center is responsible for providing and producing the intelligence required to support the combatant commander and staff, components, subordinate joint forces and elements, and the national intelligence community. The 29th BCT, Hawaii ARNG, was attached to the COSCOM and provided the forces to execute the functions of the joint defense operations center (JDOC) and joint intelligence center (JIC), man the LSA's entry control points (ECPs), supervise the guard towers (manned by tenant units), provide a company quick-reaction force (QRF) and conduct routine patrolling throughout the 29th BCT AO.
Southern Command's Joint Intelligence Center, 'Hutchison's containerized shipping facilities in the Panama Canal, as well as the Bahamas, could provide a conduit for illegal shipments of technology or prohibited items from the West to the PRC, or facilitate the movement of arms and other prohibited items into the Americas.
It will also describe the intelligence structures of theater SOCs, joint intelligence centers, and higher-level agencies, as well as their connectivity with ARSOF operational units.
