Now that serious discourse on television is allowed only on a couple of comedy shows, perhaps the Fox News Channel will take a tip from Keith Olbermann and add a laugh track to all of its shows, not just "The 1/2 Hour News Hour.
Chin-Kee is so full of fun that a laugh track follows him around, but Danny, who has transferred out of two high schools already because of Chin-Kee's past antics, isn't laughing.
The absence of a laugh track, meanwhile, seems to hone the humor's savage edge--there's no chorus of guffaws assuring us that the situations are funny--while the perspective and sense of continuity in the voiceover encourage us to put the characters' behavior in a broader context.
