There would, of course, be things like the American turkey but we would also have lefse (a traditional soft Norwegian flatbread) and lutefisk.
Ja sure, more than 800 people every year flock to the lodge - even Peters, although "I hate lutefisk," she said - to eat the white fish liberally drenched in drawn butter and smothered in white sauce, along with meatballs, boiled potatoes, tortilla-like lefse (made with potatoes, sugar, cream, butter and flour, rolled thin and browned on a special grill) and followed by home-baked treats.
Traditions associated with food are key factors in identifying communities and cultures: Lefse is associated with the Swedish culture; Lutefisk is associated with communities of Norwegian descent; and cheese is associated with Wisconsin.
