On the right side, the right lymphatic duct enters at the junction of the right internal jugular and right subclavian veins, but this duct only drains lymph from the right side of the head and neck, the right upper limb, and the right half of the thoracic cavity. The lymph contained within the collectors is transported centrally and finally returned to the main blood circulation via the thoracic duct on the left side of the body, and the right lymphatic duct on the ride side. The right lymphatic duct drains the right side of the head, neck, and chest wall; it also drains the right lung and the lower half of the left lung, the heart, the dome of the liver, and the right diaphragm via the bronchomediastinal trunk. |
