A large, immature lymphocyte that has been activated by an antigen and divides to give rise to mature lymphocytes (B cells and T cells).
(Pathology) an abnormal cell consisting of a large nucleus and small cytoplasm that was once thought to be an immature lymphocyte and is now associated with a type of leukaemia (lymphoblastic leukaemia)
