There is a great book called Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell, that talks about mavens (product experts) and connectors (natural networkers who spread the word).
The individuals with these 'social gifts' tend to fall into one of three categories: there are connectors, mavens and salesmen.
The Mavens may not exactly be drinking from the proverbial fountain of youth, but it's pretty close.
