The purpose of a mean-tone tuning is to temper the difference between major and minor tones (9:8 and 10:9, respectively), but Bermudo never even mentions the possible existence of a minor tone.
But it has to be pointed out that the syntonic comma is the difference between two octaves with a pure 3rd, and four perfect 5ths, and not as given here; that it is the ditonic comma that is divided among all 12 semitones; that in mean-tone tuning 11 (not four) 5ths are tempered; that in mean-tone again the player chooses between a sharp and a flat for all five (not two) accidentals.
