Any of various starlings of southeast Asia, having bluish-black or dark brown coloration and yellow bills. Certain species, especially the hill myna (Gracula religiosa), are known for mimicry of human speech.

Local and migratory birds include the kingfisher, paradise flycatcher, drongos, mynas and the gulls, egrets, swifts and herons.
An indigenous bird to the UAE, the graceful warbler, which measures less than 10cm and weighs 8gm, is preyed on by the myna, a larger Asian subcontinent bird that eats warbler chicks, he said.
The birds included a black-capped lory, eight pigeons, a salmon-crested cockatoo, a Goffin's cockatoo, 16 hill mynas, an olive-headed lorikeet, a purple-naped lory, and an umbrella cockatoo.
