A crowd of around 2,000 heralded the start of the season and Friday night games at Cov and chairman Andrew Green was delighted with the response from the fans.
Chief executive Tony Pignata said: "It was clear our fans wanted more Friday night games this season.
The Thursday night game will kick off the season, while the first weekend of play will include evening games as well - starting with a Sunday night game that sees Green Bay hosting Chicago on September 13.
