It is not a hard and fast rule but many times people parent in the way they were parented or they will parent in an exact opposite way from their parents.
For the majority of people, this knowledge is based on how they were parented themselves.
How children are parented will affect them for a very long time so this is why many parents need to take a look at their parenting techniques and see how much they can improve them.
