Daffodils are starting to go over, but in the grass under the young apple trees, the late flowering pheasant's eye narcissi are opening their sweetly scented flowers.
Q FOUR years ago I bought 200 Pheasant's eye narcissus bulbs that I naturalised under fruit trees.
Once the last tulip has dropped its petals, and the scent of the last pheasant's eye narcissus has faded into the air, we're done thinking about bulbs until late summer.
