Byline: ANI Washington, November 10 (ANI): A research from scientists at the University of Leeds, UK, has found that the tiny fig wasps that pollinate fig trees can travel over 160km in less than 48 hours, and are transporting pollen ten times further than previously recorded for any insect.
Bees also pollinate plants we get our clothes from (cotton) as well as plants that line our rivers and streams and help to control erosion.
Small populations of the short-haired bumblebee sprang up in the country's South Island after being transported there in the late 19th century to pollinate crops of red clover.
