(Cricket) cricket a line four feet in front of and parallel with the bowling crease, at or behind which the batsman stands

popping crease

White line drawn 4 ft in front of the bowling crease. The bowler must deliver the ball with some part of the front foot behind the popping crease. A batsman cannot be stumped or run out if a foot or the bat is touching the ground behind the popping crease.
