Hence, blood transmission, exchange of body fluids like semen, pre-seminal
or vaginal fluids during unprotected sexual intercourse, pregnancy or breastfeeding are the only ways that the HIV virus can be spread between two individuals.
These body fluids, which include blood, semen and pre-seminal
fluids, rectal and vaginal fluids and breast milk, can be transmitted through unprotected sex, sharing of needles or syringes, and from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding.
The public must realize that certain fluids--blood, semen, pre-seminal
fluid, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids and breast milk--from an HIV-infected person can transmit HIV," the clinic said.
