The Northern Print Biennale, initiated by Northern Print in Newcastle in partnership with culture10, is the first major exhibition of contemporary printmaking in the UK for almost 20 years.
The three-month event aims to bring the art of printmaking to the masses with a wide programme of events set to transform NewcastleGateshead into a 'Print City'.
In essence, the techniques used in woodblock and linoleum printmaking are quite similar, and would be familiar to any child who's ever made a potato print in art class.
