The recording was originally made by Vox in two-channel stereo and four-channel quadraphonics.
The first of these recordings, the 1974 issues, were actually miked in four-channel Quadraphonics as well as two-channel, and PentaTone Classics have issued a hybrid SACD of them that actually sounds a tad clearer to me in their stereo presentation.
PentaTone remind us that both selections on their disc derive from the era of quadraphonics, when Philips and others were testing the four-channel waters.
