Since the programme began more than 500 Antiques Roadshows have been broadcast to an audience that regularly averages just under six million.
Olwen Gillespie, spokeswoman for the Antiques Roadshow, last night said: "We've seen a record-breaking number of people here at the Southport event - it's been one of the busiest roadshows we've held.
He said: "Even after 29 years of Roadshows it's remarkable that new treasures keep coming up.
