This bird may have been part of an influx last week that brought a rough-legged buzzard to the marshes, the first in Lancashire since 1995, but typically that most elusive of winter visitors was nowhere to be seen as I pushed on through the wet grass.
Tunes include the twitter of the coal tit, calls of the oystercatcher and lapwing and screech of the rough-legged buzzard.
