Either of two diving ducks (Aythya marila or A. affinis) having predominantly black and white plumage in the male. Also called bluebill.

At this site you could expect to see common goldeneyes, oldsquaws, red breasted mergansers, common eiders, scaups, loons, black ducks and Canada geese, as well as the more common gulls and shore birds.
You can spot large numbers of Canada geese, black ducks, common mergansers, red-breasted mergansers, common golden-eye, and both scaups during migration.
