The unique feature of this type of engine is that the crankcase does not feature an oil scavenge pump which normally pumps oil from the engine to a separate tank.
The problem remained, and further troubleshooting included changing the same pressure switch again, a drain and flush on the oil system, and replacement of two scavenge pumps.
Utilising the existing plant control systems, the FMA solution involved the introduction of a remote MCC/PLC (Motor Control Centre) to operate scavenge pumps and agitators.
