Union leaders have rejected a new offer on the dispute over equal pay with the GMB saying its shop stewards have turned down the offer by Leeds City Council.
They claimed a senior shop steward was suspended for complaining during work time to management about being racially abused by the guard.
At the gates, GMB shop steward Kenny Ward told hundreds of workers: "We have achieved an unprecedented victory not just for us but on a legal front as well.
