The web-search for one new book for Low junior turned into a clickfest that ended with three pairs of woolly gloves, two trikes, a pair of snowboots, a footie video, red flashing elf earrings (half-price because only one elf actually flashes), a George Foreman Lean Machine, a make-your-own-mulled-wine kit and a Doris Day DVD for my granny.
There's a solemn group of men cradling tiny figures in mini snowboots and ski suits in their arms - not dads with their kids, as they appear from a distance, but touts with pet monkeys, sad little creatures dressed up to bait tourists into handing over a few roubles to hold one in a holiday snap.
