While the standard menu boasts homemade lamb burgers, Oriental beef noodles, Caesar salad, fillet of salmon, and, for the children, premium sausage and mash, homemade spaghetti and meatballs, plus Scottish haddock fillet in a crispy batter, to name but a few.
Known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Granny", "Granny Cat" and "Nana Miki", she maintained her "tradition of Christmas Eve at her house for the family with a healthy serving of Spaghetti and Meatballs.
Instead of the ubiquitous spaghetti and meatballs, I've made a lovely baked pasta dish - al forno as they say in Italy - using pasta shapes and a creamy tomato sauce as well as plenty of cheese.
