The natural ostium of the sphenoid sinus is located at its superior aspect anteriorly and drains into the sphenoethmoid
These are: (1) the intersphenoidal synchondrosis (iss), (2) intrapostsphenodial synchondrosis (its), (3) rostrum ossicle of Bertin synchondrosis, (4) interplanum sphenoidal suture, (5) sphenoethmoid
suture, and (6) sphenosquamosal suture (Table 2).

The parameters correlated in our study include middle turbinate, middle meatus, bulla ethmoidalis, hiatus semilunaris, frontal recess and sphenoethmoid
In-office flexible nasal endoscopy revealed a healthy-appearing mucosa in the left sphenoethmoid
Sphenochoanal polyps are rare, benign, solitary masses that arise from the sphenoid sinus, exit through the sphenoid ostium, pass across the sphenoethmoid
recess, and extend into the choana.
The nasal mass was seen occupying the sphenoethmoid
recess; it had arisen from the nasal septum on the posterior part of the vomer (figure 1).
Endoscopic examination revealed that the middle meatuses were unremarkable, but examination of the area of the right sphenoethmoid
recess revealed purulent discharge over the anterior face of the sphenoid sinus (figure, B).
Instead, it was attached to the cribriform plate and the sphenoethmoid
recess by a stalk.
Collectively, these structures form what is known as the sphenoethmoid
recess, which serves as a common drainage pathway for the posterior ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses.
