Several observations regarding design control also appeared on the letter, including lack of: an established change procedure for manufacturing documents; a procedure for verification or validation of design changes prior to implementation; written software specifications for temperature and spirography functions; and documentation "that a complete validation of software change to the HHM was accomplished.
Also noted as absent were procedures calling for verification and validation of design changes as well as lack of specifications for software to handle spirography and temperature measurement.
