In the case of The Water Engine this kind of stereoscopy is strengthened by the double logic of remediation which governs the play's material and which allows the artist simultaneously to keep an eye on the reality of the fiction and its material mediation or artifice.
His use of stereoscopic photography is an example of this; stereoscopy is after all associated with its heyday in the Victorian age.
