It reads: The Flying Fortress crash mystery of Meltham Moors was solved last night by a former chairman of Meltham Council who was a member of one of two stretcher parties who went to the aid of the five man crew of the American aircraft.
The Argentinian soldiers, realising the night could be theirs, taunted the young British soldiers and brought down mortar fire on stretcher parties carrying the wounded - one direct hit killed two men.
The sight of stretcher parties and bandage banks clearly took some of the gloss off a tremendously fulfilling day for Benitez, whose first derby victory swung his team's recent dominance in these high-octane collisions back into the red.
