Based on egg size, shape, and coloration, and without direct observation of the event, I cannot distinguish whether this superparasitism event arose from a single female cowbird repeatedly parasitizing the nest, or from a second female contributing an egg to the previously parasitized nest.
Castner (1986) observed superparasitism under artificial conditions (glass test tubes).
fenyesi emerges per host, but superparasitism is found in a small number of hosts.
