Achilles tendinitis means you feel pain in the large tendon that extends from in the back of your heel to your calf muscle.
Radcliffe, 35, finished fourth in New York on Sunday and was struggling with tendinitis in her right knee, reports The Sun.
The 35-year-old world record holder had started the race in search of a third successive New York victory and fourth overall and ran from the front for 23 miles but bravely finished fourth after a tendinitis problem struck.
