The victim, whose name and nationality had remained a mystery, suffered post traumatic amnesia and could not recall simple details such as his country of birth.
Post Traumatic Amnesia (PTA) is a state of confusion that occurs immediately following a traumatic brain injury, in which the injured person is disorientated and unable to remember events that occur after the injury.
While the frequency of traumatic amnesia in children and adolescents is unknown, clinical experience suggests that children and adolescents may have sudden recall of previously unavailable traumatic memories during or outside of therapy sessions.
