An electrical charge produced by friction between two objects.

triboelectricity  (trb--lk-trs-t, trb-)
An electrical charge produced by friction between two objects that are nonconductive. Rubbing glass with fur, or a comb through the hair, can built up triboelectricity. Most everyday static electricity is triboelectric.
