“Florida's law unconstitutionally singles out gay people and the children in their care for unequal treatment, denying many children the permanency and security that comes through adoption,” said Leslie Cooper, a senior staff attorney with the ACLU LGBT Project who argued before the court today.
Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, Knox County Schools, and as many as 105 other school districts in Tennessee used Internet filtering software to unconstitutionally censor students' access to online information about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues, while at the same time allowing sites that denounce homosexuality or promote reparative therapy which purports to "cure" LGBT people.
This is the first step toward a gradual implementation of a police state, with the federal government unconstitutionally establishing control over local and state law-enforcement functions.
