I am now 90 and have lived in the same house in Ethel Street for 70 years and was in the WAFFS during the war working as a plotter for Bomber Command.
The net result of all that studying is that the smell of burnt fingers waffs over Newmarket as once again the good-thing favourite bites the dust.
Eve Attwood, 84, originally from Hendon, Sunderland, but now living in Cheshire, joined the WAFFS after the war broke out.
