The distance from the center of the front wheel to that of the rear wheel in a motor vehicle, usually expressed in inches.

(Engineering / Automotive Engineering) the distance between the front and back axles of a motor vehicle

The distance between the centers of two consecutive wheels. In the case of vehicles with more than two axles or equivalent systems, the successive wheelbases are all given in the order front to rear of the vehicle.
