Summary: Commercial activity in Algeria has seen an increase in Q4 2008 compared with the previous term, for the wholesale trade, but fell for retail, according to a survey of opinion on trade conducted by the National Office of Statistics (ONS) with the trade firms' managers.
Bankruptcies in the manufacturing and wholesale trade sectors hit the highest levels the past year, at 244 and 222, respectively.
These firms recorded growth in total sales and receipts ranging from 200% in the agricultural services, forestry, and fishing industry to 1800% in the wholesale trade industry.
