In addition, and with respect to the inclusion of these communicating branches in the various anatomical lists or terminologies, the following were analyzed: a) the Basle Nomina Anatomica (His, 1895), b) the International Terminologia Anatomica, 2001, published by the IFAA and the Spanish Anatomical Society, translated into Spanish, c) Terminologia Neuroanatomica, proposed by the FIPAT, which is awaiting approval at the next IFAA conference, and d) Terminologia Anatomica proposed by the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (2001).
The urgent need for a common vocabulary for all anatomical structures for use by all professionals in the health sciences led to the creation of the Basle Nomina Anatomica in 1895.
La quinta y ultima etapa se inicio en el ano 1895, durante el IX Congreso de la "Anatomische Gesellschaft" celebrado en Basilea (Suiza) cuando se aprueba un nuevo sistema de terminologia anatomica denominada "la Basle Nomina Anatomica" redactada en latin, que reduce el nu- mero de terminos anatomicos de los 50,000 existentes a 4,500 terminos aceptados (Alvarez Guisbert & Campohermoso Rodriguez).
