Brooklyn Rider (Johnny Gandelsman, violin; Colin Jacobsen, violin, Nicholas Cords, viola; Eric Jacobsen, cello -- and yes, the Jacobsens are brothers) gets its name from Der Blau Reiter (The Blue Rider), an artistic collective based in Munich prior to World War I.
