The structures of both families of synthetic compounds may be considered as based on the layered structure of brucite
, (Mg[(OH).sub.2]) .
In comparison, the cation occupying the Y position of the crystal structure forms a brucite
structure with [O.sup.2-], O[H.sup.-], and [F.sup.-].
According to Figure 4(a), it can be seen that there was no obvious diffraction peak of brucite
generated until cement pastes were cured at 20[degrees]C for 240 days.
Due to the production of O[H.sup.-], the magnesium ions will react with O[H.sup.-] and are deposited as brucite
of Mg[(OH).sub.2] on the steel surface.
Magnesium sulfate (MgS[O.sub.4]) is the most aggressive of sulfates due to the lowering of the pH of the solution of the pores in the cement paste hydrated by the reaction with the portlandite and the formation of brucite
The Mg on the other hand is the weathering product of the ophiolites at shallower depth where the pH (around or less than 9) favors the dissolution of brucite
which is a magnesium hydroxide.
1) indicated that all soil solutions were under-saturated with respect to anhydrite (average SI =-3.1), aragonite (-0.92), calcite (-0.76), brucite
(-6.1), dolomite (disordered) (-2.9), dolomite (ordered) (-2.4) and gypsum (-2.8) for 0.5 h equilibration time.
The LDHs exhibit structures that derive from brucite
structure is based on infinite layers composed of octahedra that are connected to each other through their edges.
The reaction products identified by XRD included synthetic brucite
, Mg[(OH).sub.2], vaterite CaC[O.sub.3] and dolomite MgCa[(C[O.sub.3]).sub.2].
And there's spectroscopic evidence for water's action on Ceres' surface rocks, in the form of minerals never seen on other asteroids: potentially brucite
or another hydroxide, and carbonates.
The main minerals of this group are: Brucite
, Geothite, Diaspore, Bauxite, Lepidocrocite, Manganite, Groutite, Stainierite and Chalcopanite that this project discusses the diaspore minerals and processing of them from the diaspore minerals.
