1. An evergreen tree (Xanthocyparis nootkatensis syn. Cupressus nootkatensis or Chamaecyparis nootkatensis) of northwest North America. Also called Nootka cypress.
2. The decay-resistant wood of this tree, used for boats, construction materials, and furniture.
