Chain drill - definition of Chain drill by The Free Dictionary
An attachment to be used with a carpenter’s brace when drilling in metal. It allowed pressure to be exerted on the bit without having to press on the brace. This was done with the help of a chain running from the brace to around the work to be drilled.
