Double sulphide

The dark grey phase (1b, i) contains calcium and aluminium oxides and the double sulphides of the type (Ca,Mn)S that co rresponds to CaO x [Al.sub.2][O.sub.3]+(Ca,Mn)S - MnS being more in proportion than CaS (see table 2).
Results obtained showed that the dark spot on the light grey phase i) contains pure aluminium oxide, while the light grey part is a double sulphides of the (Ca, Mn)S type, but the concentration of CaS is much higher than that of MnS which explains the light grey appearance of the phase.
