The Eastmain River
in northern Quebec flows 756 km east to west, parallel to another major river, the Rupert, situated 100 km north.

Also gone are a number of Cree chiefs who were seen as open to compromise on development projects, like Hydro-Quebec's latest plan to build a $2.5-billion hydro-electric project to dam up the Rupert and Eastmain rivers
